VOCAL MUSIC
- In recording videos, use of smart phones, digital cameras, or video cameras with built-in microphones are recommended. If using a mixer, as mentioned in the “Clarification in the Use of Microphones,” enhancement is NOT allowed (e.g. adding echo), which is subject to technical violation.
- ENTRANCE and EXIT must be included in the recorded video. Corresponding deductions will be applied for failure to include these.
- Videos must be HALF-BODY STATIONARY shot (waist up), in standard resolution, and in MP4 format with maximum resolution of 720p to 1080p.
- Music Notes and other forms should be in PDF format and must be included in the folder of the entry.
- Music must be performed exactly as it appears on the score. For example, if the song will be sung in a different key, it must be noted.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
- The recorded video MAY BE HALF OR WHOLE-BODY STATIONARY SHOT and the HANDS should be VISIBLE.
- Entrance and exit are NOT required in the video. DEPORTMENT (introduction, appearance, bearing) is part of the judging criteria.
- Music Piece should be memorized. Reading of notes is NOT allowed.
- Music Notes and other forms should be in PDF format and must be included in the folder of the entry.
- Music must be performed exactly as it appears on the score. For example, if the song will be played in a different key, it must be noted.
CLASSIFICATION OF INSTRUMENTS
- The following instruments are under WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS: Melodica, Flute, Bamboo flute, Ocarina, Saxophone, Clarinet, Bassoon, Oboe, and Contrabassoon.
- STRING (BOWED) INSTRUMENTS: Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass
- STRING (PLUCKED, HAMMERED, STRUMMED) INSTRUMENTS: Harp, Classical Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Mandora, Banduria, Ukulele, Laud, Octavina, and Bandora
- BRASS INSTRUMENTS: Horn, Cornett, Trumpet, Flugehorn, Trombone, Tuba
- MISCELLANEOUS INSTRUMENTS: Accordion, Marimba, Xylophone, Recorder, Handbells, Bagpipe, and Harmonica
PLATFORM DIVISION
- The recorded video must be WHOLE BODY STATIONARY SHOT (including feet), MP4 format with a maximum resolution of 720p to 1080p.
- ENTRANCE and EXIT must be included in the recorded video.
- All documents (MANUSCRIPT – speech, script, outline, story – and Creative Composition Affidavit, as needed), must be in PDF format and should be included in the folder of the specific entry.
CLARIFICATION ON BIBLE STORYTELLING
- This is NOT a memorized event. Submission of a manuscript is NOT required.
PHOTOGRAPHY
- Images must be taken in 2021 and entries should be based on the Categories outlined.
- Follow general rules in the Convention Manual but NO NEED FOR MATTING since the submission is digital.
- UPLOADED IMAGES SHOULD BE IN JPEG FILES.
- Use the same format as music and platform in labeling entries – [SchoolName]-[Category], for example: ChristianSchoolAcademy-ScenicBlack&White
- Documentation, as needed in specific categories (Special Effects and Computer Enhancement), must be in PDF format and included in the entry folder.
